FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, celebrates the first anniversary of Alicante station.
The opening of this station has nearly doubled the FedEx presence in Valencia region. The station has 12 team members and six vans and provides better access and immediate connections to 90% of the world’s GDP for customers located in Alicante and the province.
In 2014 FedEx also added five additional routes in Valencia with seven new team members and five new vans, turning to Valencia in the gateway serving the 12 routes that cover Valencia and Castellón. Currently FedEx has more than 40 team members in Ribarroja (Valencia) and Alicante.
The Valencia area is an important market for FedEx Express, with nearly 337,000 companies. A number of growing industries are present in this region, including textiles, footwear, marble and toys (in Alicante) and automotive, ceramics, tiles, furniture (in Valencia). In 2013 exports in Valencia region amounted to 23 billion euros, according to the Tax Agency.

Expanding the presence in Alicante and Valencia has allowed FedEx to offer a wide range of services, including FedEx Express next-business-day deliveries to and from Europe or in two business days for main intercontinental destinations (FedEx International Priority®) as well as deferred services with competitive rates to Europe, USA or Asia (FedEx International Economy®). All services are also available for heavy weight shipments over 68kg as well as small packages and documents.
